We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. i think there are some good visual styles looking like vista.
Vista CG is quite good in my opinion. but it's not possible to make transparency in a normal visual style cause XP just doesn't support this.
you have to use a windowblinds skin like "Windows Vista" by 6205.
a good start menu emulator for XP is Vistart.
so, i like your ideas but it's not easy and sometimes nearly impossible do create those skins ot themes.
